Development
Lead for a customized Permits Applications solution at EP Energy, an
upstream Oil & Gas company operating in Texas, Louisiana and
UTAH. November 2014 – January 2015.
EPE’s goal was to track their Permits related data in
Maximo. Permit types included, Drilling and Work over, Flares, and
Commingling. Client also had a short window of opportunity to
complete this project and roll it over to Production. Their
preference was to use the Agile/Scrum methodology with continual
interaction with the key users to design the desired applications.
Delivered the solution on-time and on-budget as follows:

Maximo/EAM Projects with IBM include:
1.
Functional
Work stream Lead for the Design Phase at Boardwalk Pipeline (BWP), a
midstream company that provides transportation, storage, gathering and
processing of natural gas and liquids. April 2014 – August 2014
In this initial phase (OMS Release1), BWP’s goal was to
implement Maximo 7.5x to consolidate and manage the Asset and Inspection
processes for two of its major subsidiaries. To accomplish this goal,
integration with their GIS (ESRI) system as well as a 3rd
party managed operator qualification system was also required. IBM
provided a team of specialists to lead GIS, Integration, Data Migration,
Reports development and Functional work streams. An IBM project manager and
a Solution architect (SA) ensured proper planning and coordination.
As the functional work stream lead the following tasks were
accomplished:

Reviewed project background material and assessed Functional
work stream related considerations as well as interdependencies with other
work streams i.e. GIS, Integration, Data Migration, and Reporting.

Met with key client representatives to discuss Asset and
Work Management best practices as well as to determine the scope of
Inspection and Asset management processes for Release1.
-
Regularly liaised with other work stream leads and the SA to
discuss various aspects of the overall solution.

Developed a functional design strategy for how Maximo would
be used out-of-the-box without customization, to fulfill BWP’s preliminary
business process requirements.

Provided updates to the Microsoft Project based Schedule for
the Functional work stream activities including work break down by tasks,
resources, number of hours, start and end dates for each task.

Provided initial training, coaching and development to the
in-experienced consultant (CBD) assigned to my team in various areas e.g.
process flow development using Visio, effective workshop design using
PowerPoint, high level concepts of Enterprise Asset Management as well as
basic configuration of Maximo.

Working with the CBD consultant, developed material for
design workshops which included PowerPoint presentations aimed to
facilitate functional requirements through discussion of EAM best
practices; Visio based future state business process flows as well as Excel
based data needs.

Conducted over 15 design workshops as well as additional

functional design for OMS Release1.

2.
Work
stream lead, IT Asset (AM) and Configuration Management (CfM) at Ameren
Energy, a major power generation and distribution company operating in the
Missouri and Illinois areas. November 2013 – March 2014
Client’s goal was to have an Integrated Operations Center
(IOC) to be in place by October, 2014 to support their Advanced Metering
Infrastructure program as they begin smart meter deployment and production
operations. In the first phase of this project IBM was engaged to
work with the client to identify key business requirements for the
implementation of the first release of this program.
As a work stream lead, my primary responsibilities were to
assist the IBM IOC team with the Asset and Configuration Management related
objectives included in the IBM SOW. I accomplished these objectives
by:

Review of project background material and assessment of work
stream related considerations

Meetings with key client representatives to discuss
ITIL/Best practices based AM/CfM business processes, and to determine a
pragmatic approach for implementation of specific processes in IOC release
1.

Development and scheduling of Business
Process Development (BPD) Workshops and pre-workshop review sessions

Development of an initial list of “IT Assets” with suggested
categorization/classifications to determine in-scope assets and CIs for IOC
release 1 as well as asset ownership, sources of existing data and
discovery methods.

A thorough review of the capabilities of the client’s chosen
ITSM/AM/CfM software tool; ServiceNow.

Identification of practical approaches for electronic
discovery of CIs/Assets as well as determining requirements for data

Schlumberger, an International Oil and Gas Services company, Houston TX. June
2013 – August 2013
Client required an assessment of their current EAM
application landscape (7 home grown systems) to ascertain the gaps between
a best-of-breed EAM solution like Maximo and their legacy applications.

Conducted interviews with both the application SMEs as well
as key business users including worldwide VP of Maintenance, to understand
the key EAM business requirements and gaps at a high level

Rated each of the 7 legacy applications in 12 major EAM

groups (Maintenance, IT, Operations) to a unified instance of Maximo v7.5
(Smart Cloud Control Desk) with EAM, ITAM and ITSM functionality.
Participated in various aspects of the project including project planning,
resourcing and costing, data migration, data cleansing strategy and
